The Ranching & Wildlife Committee’s goal is to host youth contests to educate and get young people involved in outdoor activities. The competitions are open to Texas 4-H Club and FFA Chapter members; both male and female competitors ages 8-18. The event focuses on fostering sportsmanship, camaraderie, appreciation of the outdoors and gun safety. In 2025, more than 1000 competitors vied for over $250,000 in cash and prizes prizes.

DONATION

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is a Section 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The amount of the contribution that may be deductible for federal income tax purposes is the excess value contributed by the donor over the value of the goods or services received.
